Barrington toilet
Sir, —I would like to express extreme disappointment over the siting of public toilets in the centre of the beautiful lane of trees bordering Barrington Park. The many people who signed a petition recently wanted toilets in the Barrington Mall, not spoiling the natural beauty of the park. As a veteran athlete I travel at least twice a week from Halswell to train in these peaceful surroundings. I am one of many local runners whose measured training area will also be spoilt by this peculiar decision to site public toilets well beyond comfortable walking distance from where they were requested. — Yours, etc., NONI CALLANDER.
