Suspicious fire at woolshed

Fire destroyed a vacant woolshed at Hinds on Christmas Eve in the fifth suspicious blaze on the adjoining farms of two brothers. The blaze is the second on the property of Mr Norman Bagrie. Late in July a blaze destroyed a woolshed, a header, a tractor and about 20 hay bales. That fire followed three

on the property of Mr Lindsay Bagrie, who since February has lost a cottage, woolshed and a tworoomed single man’s hut. Mr Norman Bagrie is in Blenheim and could not be reached for comment. A fire safety officer from Timaru inspected the damaged woolshed.

No arrests have been made. The fires are being investigated by the Ashburton police.
