Evernden wins
NZPA-AAP Brisbane The New Zealander, Kelly Evernden, has progressed to the quarterfinal of the Commonwealth Bank Queensland Open Tennis Championship In Brisbane. Evernden, the tournament's fifth seed, thrashed the unsseded Englishman, St sphen ° Shaw, 6-0, 6-3. Shaw could not do any-
thing right in the first set making repeated unforced errors and falling on service. He improved in the second set but Evernden broke his service in the seventh and ninth games from deuce. Everden, a finalist two years ago, will meet stylish Indian Ramesh Krishnan, the tournament fourth seed, in today's quarter-final. , ‘ /
