Headache for selectors
NZPA-AAP Madras Australia’s sparkling form has left the selectors with a headache on the eve of the World Cup clash with India. “I'm delighted, but we’ve got the situation now of not who to pick but who to leave out,” said the coach Bob Simpson, yesterday. The Australians com-
pleted a hat-trick of practice match wins in Madras with a 98 run victory over South Zone B. They had won their two previous matches by 156 run margins after one of their opponents, South Zone A, had beaten India “I’m extremely happy’ with what has happened so far,” said Simpson. “I said when we left
home that we had a team of workers and that was always going to be the main driving force on this campaign.” One of the most encouraging aspects has been the form of the two rookies — the hard hitting Western Australian batsman, Tom Moody, and the South Australian offspinner, Tim May.
