Bargains galore ..
There are lots of bargains at Smiths D.I.Y. Centre in the next two weeks. They are celebrating the opening of their new drive-in, and customers are the winners. In fact you can save a packet on a lot of those jobs you have been putting off. Wallpapering is a good example, with a particularly large and nice selection at half price. This is something that many women enjoy doing, and are extremely good at. It requires a certain degree of care and patience, but is really quite straightforward, particularly with the new readypasted papers. School holidays are possibly not the ideal time to undertake this however, so now is a good time to start A day or two is all that it takes to transform a room before the relatives arrive for Christmas. Labour Weekend is almost upon us t and for
many New Zealanders it is the traditional start of. the gardening and home maintenance and redecoration season. As part of its special promotion this week, Smiths D.I.Y. have a num- . ber of demonstrations running. One which is Eilways popular is the stippled ceiling coat demonstration, on Friday and Saturday. An expert from the manufacturer’s will be available in the mower department all week, and there is a large range of garden tools at less than half price. A demonstration of Wagner electric paint strippers and sprayers is also likely to be very popular. An Epiglass marine products demonstrator will be in store later in the week, showing boaties how to fix boats. Kiwis have always been great painters, and the paint specials at less than
half price should prove very attractive. Staff at Smiths D.I.Y. are more than happy to discuss projects and can often give the customer the confidence to tackle more than they first thought they were capable of. Conversely they are also happy to suggest alternatives if a particular job is a little too ambitious for the novice. . For example, a whole new kitchen may be the ideal, but a surprising facelift can be obtained from just replacing the cupboard doors, a good range of which are in stock. Smith’s staff know that the person they help to gain confidence with minor jobs will be back again and again as their confidence, achievements and sense of satisfaction grow with each successfully completed task.
