Bore row reheats
PA Rotorua Government agencies have begun a new campaign against Rotorua rebel geothermal bore users, according to a spokesman for bore users, Mr Trevor Prichard. The latest claims of booby-trapped well-heads and the introduction of a special Ministry of Energy team to enforce closing were “trivia,” Mr Prichard said. A D.S.I.R. technician encountered a razor blade
attached to a bore tap last month "but was not hurt. The matter was reported to the police. It is the beginning of a new campaign,” Mr Prichard said. “They are at the bottom of the barrel when we are faced with trivia like that. “We don’t condone anything that could injure anyone.” Rotorua police said that while they regarded the razor blade offence as serious, they considered it an isolated incident
