NZPA-AFP Katmandu The French mountaineer, Thierry Renard, claimed here yesterday to have skied down the side of the 8201-metre-high Mount Cho Oyu after climbing the peak from the Tibetan side — without official permission from China. Renard, aged 41, said he and his Nepalese guide, Ang Rimzi Sherpa, aged 33, reached the summit of Cho Oyu from their fourth and final camp, pitched at 7500 m on the Tibetan side, after an eight-hour climb on September 23. '
