Bank sets up scholarships
PA Auckland The New Zealand merchant bank, Fay Richwhite and Co., has established three scholarships. The scholarships, of $3OOO each payable over a three-year period, would be offered each year to secondary school scholars to assist them in attending
any New Zealand university. Those eligible were students who are proceeding to a full time degree course in law or commerce at a domestic university. Candidates must show excellent all-round ability, have an interest in a career in the finance
banking industry, and be scholastic achievers. “We have received excellent response from the holders of the Auckland Grammar School bursary,” the executive director of Fay Richwhite, Mr Bill Birnie, said yesterday. “The introduction of the New Zealand-wide scholarships, which have
been developed as part of Fay Richwhite’s continuing commitment to provide assistance to youth and education, has certainly been greatly influenced by the response.” Holders of the scholarships would automatically become eligible for selection for another educational programme
