3rd-term poll
Ronald Reagan could not win a third term as President according to an opinion poll published in the “USA Today” newspaper. Only 36 per cent of those surveyed said they would vote for Mr Reagan if he were able to seek reelection. Fifty-five per cent said they would not support him. Nine per cent were non-committal. About a quarter of those who said they would not back Reagan, one of the best liked presidents in United States history, said they might feel differently if he were younger. — Washington.
