Chess grand final
For the first time in 17 years the grand final of “The Press" schools’ chess competition will be held away from a school ground. This year’s final of the A and B grade for secondary schools will be held at the Canterbury Chess Club in Beaiey Avenue from 6.30 p.m. to 8.30 oh
October 15. The A grade final will be between Burnside and Ashburton, neither .of which have been successful before, while the defcadioa Christ* fourth. The B grade final will be between Christchurch Boys’ B andAlhburtoe 8.~-< t'
