Motukarara start for Master Mood
Kevin Williams, the Prebbieton part-owner and trainer of glamour pacer, Master Mood, has had a change of plans and will run the dual cups winner in this Saturday’s D.B. Draught Handicap at the Banks Peninsula Trotting Club’s meeting at Motukarara, providing there remains no prospect of a rainaffected track. . Master Mood has done so well since his fine first-up second to Happy Sunrise at Ashburton 1# days ago that Williams has decided to fit in the banks Peninsula race on his New Zealand Cup
programme. The Noodlum entire, which pleased his connections with his work on the grass track in a private trial at Motukarara last Saturday, has only raced twice on grass to date, finishing fourth on a soft track at Waimate as a Juvenile and winning a C 5 handicap at Rangiora by four lengths at the beginning of a nine-race winning sequence in December 1985.
The Ardmore-trained Gaelic Skipper is also an interesting acceptor in the field of 1# for the $16,600 event
