Young girl assaulted
A girl, aged four, was indecently assaulted at Wigram on Saturday after her mother left her in the care of a man while she went to search for a lost handbag. The police were interviewing a man yesterday. The woman left the girl and a younger child with the man at midday after she realised she had left her handbag elsewhere. Detective Sergeant Ken Hall said that the woman was away for no more than 10 minutes during which time the alleged assault occurred.
