New freighter begins service
Lyttelton’s second regular inter-island freight service began yesterday when the Spirit of Freedom sailed at midday. The vessel was 60 per cent full. "Excellent, a really good start,” said Pacifica Shipping’s operations manager, Mr Rod Grout. Pacifica also operates a regular Lyttelton — Wellington run, with the ship Spirit of Competition. The Spirit of Freedom will be in Lyttelton from Monday morning until Tuesday midday every week. ARRIVALS Nil. - DEPARTURES Spirit of Freedom (11.45 a.m.), 1600, Auckland (Pacifica).
