Parking for nurses
Sir,—l was disappointed to see that only part of my letter, regarding nurses’ car-parking, was printed. My main point was the safety of nurses not cars. Mr Grigg replied by saying that a security guard was available. There is one guard at the orderlies' entrance of the hospital and one guard patrolling the carpark, how many does that leave for escorting all the nurses, and why should the orderlies put their own safety at risk by escorting us? Surely a decent car-park on site is necessary. Hospitals take care of public health; it seems ironical that the safety of nurses is such a low priority.—Yours, etc.,
K. BRIDGMAN-SMITH. Leeston, February 27, 1987.
