Nelson youth in fatal accident

A young motor-cyclist was killed in Nelson, on Thursday evening when his machine and a station waggon collided at the intersection of Haven Road and Vickerman Street. He was Jonathon Bruce Oliver Brown, aged 17, of 50 Douglas Road, Nelson, a son of Mr and Mrs B. Brown who are in Australia at present. The accident occurred at 7.20 p.m. Mr Brown died in hospital soon after. A pillion passenger, Sean Thomas Cox, aged 17, suffered moderate injuries and was admitted to Nelson Public Hospital. His condition was later reported to be satisfactory.
It was Nelson’s fifteenth road death this year.
