Nelson firm wins food award
A Nelson company, Sealord Products, Ltd, has won a national food industry award. The company’s fish fillets in breadcrumbs won the fish product category of the inaugural Printpac Food Industry Awards. It was one of 14 awards presented in Auckland. The premier award was won by Continental Noodles and Sauce, a product made by Continental New Zealand, Ltd. One of the judges, the
“Food Industry” newspaper’s managing director, Mr Brian Hight, said the company had taken a faultless approach to developing the product.
Other main winners were Grower Canneries; Ltd, which won the Food Industry Creativity Award for its sliced tomatoes, and Quality Bakers, Ltd, which entered the Printpac Development Award section with its Russian recipe bread.
