Boy George sued over death
NZPA-AP New York The rock singer, Boy George, is being sued for SUS 44 million ($B7 million) for his alleged role in the heroin death of an American record producer at the singer’s London mansion. A civil suit filed in New York by the lawyer acting for the victim’s parents said Boy George “actively participated in decedent being injected with a lethal quantity of heroin.”
Michael Rudetsky, aged 27, of New York, died on August 6 in the singer’s Hampstead mansion in London. Scotland Yard investigated but did not file charges against Boy George.
The suit said Boy George was working on August 5 at the Gaslight Rehearsal Studios in Brixton.
That night, Rudetsky was injected with a lethal amount of heroin, causing
him “visible signs of pain, anguish and distress,” the suit claimed.
While Rudetsky was in a stupor, the singer moved him to his mansion where “he shamefully left decedent unattended.”
Rudetsky’s parents, Sally and Edwin Rudetsky, are asking for SUSI2 million ($23.7 million) for the anguish and pain caused their son, SUSI2 million in other losses, and SUS2O million in punitive damages.
