A.A. council members elected

Cp t a A Christchurch insurance officer, Mr Ronald Hasell, has been elected to the council of the Automobile Association (Canterbury). Three other standing councillors were also reelected this week. They are the president, Mr Ronald Wilton, Mr Brian Palliser, and Mrs Barbara Petre. The other councillors are Messrs Graham East, John Margetts, Gordon Hunt, Patrick Fergusson, Murray Compton, Dick Ayton, and Gerald Austin. The vice-president is Mr Warner Harris, of Ashburton. Mr Ivan Jamieson has been retained as a councillor, although he has served for the maximum 21 years and is not eligible for re-election. This is because he is a New Zealand Automobile Association councillor. Councillors serve a three-year term. Four councillors are re-elected each year.
