The Printers’ Union yesterday won its second 7.5 per cent settlement in the wage round. Last month it got 7.5 per cent on the commercial printing trades award and it has now secured the same increase on the packaging and associated printing award. The newspaper printing
award, however, remains unsettled. Talks were ad-
journed at 1.30 a.m. yesterday with the union on an unofficial position of 9.5 per cent and the employers unofficially on 7 per cent. Their formal positions remain 12 per cent and 6 per cent.
The talks have been adjourned to December
