St John executive appointed
PA Wellington The former New Zealand Army Chief of Staff, Major-General . Rob Williams, has been appointed chief executive of the Order of St John. General Williams, aged 56, retired from the Army in December, 1985, after 37 years service. He joins St John at a time of big changes in the organisation, including the amalgamation of the present St John Ambulance Association and St John Ambulance Brigade,, a new management structure, and a review of policy covering uniforms, rank and drill. He succeeds Mr Neil McKay, who will retire after 14 years service.
