Glenbrook to resume?

PA Auckland Locked-out workers at the New Zealand Steel mill extensions project at Glenbrook are expected back at work tomorrow. The “New Zealand Herald” said it believed the workers voted at a meeting in Papakura yesterday to accept a union-manage-ment agreement reached in talks last week. Neither the combined union site advocate, Mr Ray Bianchi, nor the industrial rela-

tions manager for the project’s managing contractor, IHI, Ltd, Mr Tony Teesdale, could be reached for comment after the meeting. The newspaper said it believed the parties undertook to honour the terms of the site agreement in future disputes. The 1500 employees were locked out about five weeks ago after several months of strikes, absenteeism and poor time-keeping.
