Brittain first
PA Auckland Lyn Brittain, of Northland, has become the first woman to win the annual invitation masters indoor bowls classic at Auckland. She beat the experienced Waikato bowler, Merv Garmonsway, 9-4, to break the stranglehold men have had since the event’s inception in 1980.
