Impressive winner

Canterbury Belle was an impressive winner over 1200 m at the Doncaster Turf Club’s trials at Orari on Thursday. The daughter of Beaufort Sea and Callao Queen, in the hands of Grant Davison recorded Imin 13.25 s in beating Polacca by a head. Osmunda Hill, handy throughout, was third ahead of the stablemates, Sea Swift and Bacton Abbey. Canterbury Belle will resume racing at Riccarton on October 18. Other winners at Thursday’s trials were Critique (maidens; 800 m); Windvale Gold (one and two wins; 800 m) and Toiler (02 wins; 800 m). Maiden qualifiers were Robinski, Tudor Lord, Tide Mark, Gold Town, Abbey Feale, Honour’s Wish and Coryse.
