Meningitis kills boy
PA Auckland A Tuakau boy, aged six, has died of meningococcal meningitis. The Medical Officer of Health in South Auckland, Dr Allan Cowan, said the boy, who had played
rugby on Saturday, died on Sunday.
Dr Cowan said it was the second death from meningitis in South Auckland this year. There have been five other reported cases of the disease in the district.
