Tour ‘arrogant, cynical’
NZPA-Reuter Yaounde, Cameroon The Supreme Council for Sport in Africa (S.C.S.A.) has strongly protested against the rebel rugby tour of South Africa. An official statement by Africa’s ruling sports body described the tour as an “arrogant and cynical
challenge to untiring efforts waged by anti-apart-heid movements and the United Nations to isolate South Africa’s racist regime." The Yaounde-based council urged the New Zealand Rugby Football Union to take appropriate sanctions against the players.
