Dr Bassett off to Gulf
PA Wellington The Minister of Health, Dr Bassett, will leave on Monday for a three-week trip to the Gulf States, Britain and Switzerland. He will lead a delegation of health officials to Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, where they will discuss how New Zealand expertise can be used to develop health care in those countries. Dr Bassett will then go to London where he will hold talks with New Zealand officials on nurse immigration. He will also address a group of students graduating in health administration.
He will then go to the World Health Organisation headquarters in Geneva where he will be elected one of the vice-presidents at the annual World Health Assembly.
