Refinery loan change?
PA Wellington The Government is considering refinancing, over a longer period, loans taken out to pay for the Marsden Point oil refinery expansion.
Such a move could cut the 12.4 c a litre levy on
petrol designated for loan repayments. A spokesman for the office of the Minister of Finance, Mr Douglas, said that refinancing the loans over a longer period was an option being studied as part of the review of oil industry deregulation.
