Sumner crew wins

A crew from the Sumner Surf Life-saving Club finished second overall in the B division of the New Zealand inflatable rescue boat championships held at New Plymouth at the week-end. The championships were held in three-metre surf,

which created some spectacular racing. In the four events which counted towards the over-all result Sumner won the mass rescue and was third in the single rescue. New Brighton was the only other Christchurch club represented. It was unplaced.
