G.P. to Mamola
NZPA-AP Kuala Lumpur Randy Mamola, of the United ■ States, astride a Yamaha 500 cc machine, yesterday won the Johor Grand Prix for motor-cycles in Malaysia’s Johor Baharu. Mamola clocked 38min 29.3 s to complete the 30-lap race over the 3.1-kilometre Pasir Gudang track, 300 km south of Kuala Lumpur, the national news agency Ber-
nama reported. He collected about SNZI4IO.
His fellow American, Mike Baldwin, was second, also on a Yamaha 500 cc bike, in a time of 38:31.3.
In third place at 39:15.1 was Geoff MacNaughton of Australia, riding a 500 cc Honda machine. Bernama did not report the prize money for second and third places.
