Bottom baring
Sir,—l find it most irresponsible for your newspaper to report the insulting intentions of the Maori activist, Dun Mihaka, to bare his buttocks at His Holiness, Pope John Paul 11, when the Holy Father visits New Zealand in November. This sort of reporting shows a lack of discernment as it only puts ideas into other anti-everything people’s minds who show no respect for anyone. I feel that more serious actions towards the Pope could be committed through this junk reporting, more so now when New Zealand is going through a most violent period of crime. — Yours, etc., JOHN WORTERS. April 10, 1986.
