Sir, —I hope Michael Hawthorne (“The Press,” February 15) has more to base his wild statements upon than just media comments. Most factual statements of those who still respect God are seldom published and when they are, the facts are often twisted to distort the truth. The recent statement of Bert Walker about the Sunday Club Included no such connection with the “Coalition” as was misconstrued by some newspaper journalist. I suggest Mr Hawthorne speak to one or two of the responsible Coalition leaders and he will get a more accurate picture. While the National Council of Churches begins its mod-ern-day inquisition, the 835,000 petition against legalising sodomy speaks for the genuine Kiwi. — Yours, etc., NEVILLE M. RUSH.
