Man aims to be ‘Miss Aust.’

NZPA-AAP Sydney A Sydney hairdresser, Adrian Flook, is cute — but is he cute enough to be “Miss Australia”? He thinks so, and has become the first man to enter the quest. He certainly is eligible, because quest rules do not specify that entrants have to be female, and he is also single and not a mother. yet to decide whether to accept it. The state manager of the “Miss Australia” quest, Mrs Pat Lemon, said the entry would be referred to the national administration office. The final say will rest with the Australian .Cerebral Palsy Association, which sponsors the contest. “When we received his entry form yesterday we thought it was a joke, but we were later assured it was serious. “I’m sure Mr Flook has

come in for the right reasons, but I’m sure he is also enjoying the publicity. “I think his entry is a bit tongue in cheek,” Mrs Lemon said. Mr Flook, a hairdresser in the western Sydney suburb of Eastwood, said he entered the quest only to raise money. “My younger brother Damien is handicapped and I know how difficult it is for charities to raise cash,” he said. ; He was prompted to enter after quest organ-

However, Mrs Lemon says the public interest in Mr Flook’s entry could mean an early launch of a new contest for men called the “Aussie Male Quest.”

It was due to start in the middle of the. year, but its launching might now be much sooner, Mrs Lemon said.
