Steve Cram to compete
NZPA-AFP Newcastle Steve Cram has confirmed, ahead of schedule, that he will run in the national cross-coun-try championship at Newcastle, on Saturday, March 1. England’s double world record holder said a fortnight ago, after recovering from a knee injury, that he wanted a couple of races before making up his mind. But after recording the fastest time in a road relay race at Gateshead last Saturday, Cram announced yesterday that he would take part. However, Cram is anxious to play down expectations of what he might do
on the day. “It’ll simply be a case of having a good work-out. I’ve been around the , course a couple of times and it is really tough,” he said.
