Ashley Lobell sold to Australia
Ashley Lobell, which took a 2min placed mile record when second to Trident at Addington Raceway last Wednesday, flies out of Christchurch today for Queensland. Trained at Rangiora by part-owner, Frank Murfitt, to win three races from 17 starts, the Nat Lobell— Ashley Star five-year-old has been bought by the: Brisbane trainer, John McMullen.
Ashley Lobell is a halfbrother to Ashley Globe and Ashley Knight, both good winners in Australia after doing their initial racing in New Zealand from Murfitt’s team, the latter now racing successfully in North America.
