Rates firm on T-bills
PA Wellington Interest rates on Treasury bills firmed at yesterday’s SIOOM tender. The average yield on SIOOM of seven-day bills was 18.007 per cent, up from 17.641 per cent on 14-day bills last week and on 16.218 per cent when seven-day bills were last sold two weeks ago. Bidding was modest at just SI34M, which helped to push up rates. Bills at seven days: offered, $100M; bid, $134; sold, $100; successful yields, 17.46 to 18.5 per cent; weighted average, 18.007; previous average, 17.641 for 14-day bills last week; unsuccessful bids, 18.5 to 19.34.
