Shirley Jones honoured
NZPA-AP Los Angeles About 100 people turned out in pouring rain to see the Academy Award-winning actress, Shirley Jones, honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. ' The 1822nd star on Hollywood Boulevard was unveiled as Miss Jones, aged 51, and her husband, Marty Ingels, looked on.
Miss Jones won an Oscar for the role of Lulu Baines in the 1960 film, “Elmer Gantry." Her other movie credits include "Oklahoma," "The Music ■ Man” and “Carousel.” On television, she appear for five years in the hit show, “The Partridge Family” and in several movies.
