Candelit dinners favoured
NZPA staff correspondent London Red roses and candlelit dinners still top the romance stakes, according to a Valentine’s Day poll published in the London “Standard” newspaper. Long walks on the beach and soft music came close but less adventurous Britons preferred to watch television together. British attitudes left the pollsters struggling to decide whether romance was alive or dead. Many women said they did not get enough romance.
