ambulance officer in Christchurch, Mr Bernard Chatterton, the ambulance ® had its headlights on, i siren sounding, and emer- ' gency lights flashing. It ' had previously slowed to 1 go through the traffic 1 lights at the junction of Fendalton Road and Clyde 3 Road. As a result of the collision, two other ambulances were immediately t sent from the association’s

headquarters, in Kilmore Street. One went to the first emergency call, in which a person was reported to have collapsed at home. The incident was found to be less serious than first believed. The ambulance involved in the collision was only slightly damaged. It is expected to be back on the road by the end of the week. ______
