Hawaii golf to Pavin
NZPA-Reuter Honolulu Corey Pavin fired a final-round six-under-par 66 to bypass a faltering Tom Watson and win the SUSSOO,OOO Hawaiian Open golf tournament by two strokes from Paul Azinger.
Pavin finished with a total of 16-under-par 272 at the Waialae Country Club and collected
SUS9O,OOO ($167,400).. Azinger earned $U554,000 ($100,040) for his second place. Tom Watson, who led by a stroke over Azinger on the strength of his third-round 66, stumbled to a one-over-par 73 and
finished on 276 with the West German, Bernhard Langer. They both earned $U529,000 ($53,940).
