Dollar easier
PA Wellington The New Zealand dollar closed easier at $U50.5345/60 yesterday against its morning opening at $U50,5360/75. Dealers said there was little corporate interest. On cross rates, the New Zealand dollar (with yesterday morning’s opening values in brackets) was worth: Aust76.sc (76.6), 1.25 marks (1.26), 37.8 p (37.9) and 96.7 yen (97.3). The United States dollar finished slightly weaker at 2.3380/90 marks and 180.45/55 yen against its morning opening of 2.3400/30 marks and 181.80/95 yen. Sterling finished down slightly at $U51.4168/78 from its New • Zealand close on Friday at SUSI.4IBO/95. The Australian dollar ended at $U50.6995/02, easing on its morning opening at $U50.7035/45.
