PA Wellington Wellington and Hutt Valley players dominate the New Zealand emerging players softball team, announced yesterday to take part in an international quadrangular tournament later this month. The. team is.— Pitchers: Graeme Robertson (Hutt Valley) and Greg Newton (Southland); Catchers: Mark Anderton (Wellington) and Alan Shingleton (Hutt Valley);. Infield: Ron Goodin (Auckland), Simon Kerr (Hutt Valley), Andy Hamilton (Wellington), Dave Workman
(Hutt Valley) and John Nightingale (Hutt Valley); Outfielders and utilities: Grant Thompson (Southland), Brent Dalton (Hutt Valley), Fred Wyatt (Wellington), Brendon Doyle (Manawatu), Don Tricker (Wellington). The manager is Rusty Hay, of Wellington, and the coach is Mike Walsh, of Wellington. The assistant coach is John Lowes, of Wellington. Any player who has not represented New Zealand was eligible. The team will compete against Malaysia, Australia and against Mark Sorenson’s New Zealand Youth team in Masterton
