Nomination forms are now available from the Secretary Manager and on submission must be accompanied with brief biographical notes of his/ her service to the R.S.A. /2T\NEW ZEALAND FOREST SERVICE LAKE SUMNER RECREATIONAL HUNTING AREA LAKE SUMNER RECREATIONAL HUNTING AREA, which is entirely contained within Lake Sumner Forest Park, has been managed for recreational hunting under the Wild Animal Control Act since 1981. Each recreational hunting area is managed under a wild animal control plan issued by the Director-General of Forests, and revised from time to time. It is now intended to revise the wild animal control plan for the Lake Sumner Recreational Hunting Area, for a three year period from April 1, 1986. Pursuant to 5.28 of the Wild Animal Control Act, 1977, the Conservator of Forests invites submissions or proposals for the hunting of the area from interested groups or individuals. Submissions should be sent to the Conservator of Forests, New Zealand Forest Service, P.O. Box 25022, Christchurch, to reach this address by February 28, 1986. I North Canterbury Catchment Board & Regional Water Board GENERAL AUTHORISATION FOR DOMESTIC SEWAGE TANK EFFLUENT DISPOSAL 1 - PURSUANT TO SECTION 22 of the Water and Soil Conservation Act 1967 and subject to the exluslons specified hereunder, the North Canterbury Catchment Board, the Regional Water Board for the water region comprising the North Canterbury Catchment District, HEREBY AUTHORISES the discharge of natural water containing waste from sewage tank installations for domestic wastes into groundwater or onto land or into the ground in circumstances which result in that waste (or any other waste emanating as a result of natural processes from that waste) entering groundwater. Domestic waste includes the wastes from dwellings and staff facilities serving office and factory buildings where the discharge is less than two cubic metres per day, but does not include any waste arising from factory, laboratory, agricultural or chemical processes. 2— The following are excluded from this authorisation: (1) Effluent disposal within a radius of 200 metres of any public or community water supply well and within 1000 metres in a general upstream direction of any public water supply well which draws water from an unconfined aquifer. (2) Effluent disposal within a radius of 30 metres of any domestic water supply well and within 150 metres in a general upstream direction of a domestic water supply well, unless (in respect to the 150 metre requirement): (a) The discharge is via a shallow field tile disposal system and the domestic water supply well draws from a confined aquifer or (b) the area is reticulated with a community water supply or (c) in the case of existing disposal systems, a reticulated community water supply or sewerage scheme is likely to be installed within five years of the granting of this Authorisation. (3) The discharge of sewage tank effluent into the confined aquifers of any underground water system. (4) Effluent disposal via pressurised injection bores. (5) Sewage effluent from a disposal system serving more than two living units, or a community dwelling or any other community facility, or serving any facility in a area not subject to the issue of a Drainage and Plumbing Permit by the local authority, or on Crown Land. (6) Effluent disposal for all new subdivisions approved or proposed following the granting of this authorisation. (7) The disposal of wastes other than domestic sewage wastes. 3 — Notwithstanding the exclusions from this authorisation contained in paragraph (2) any sewage tank effluent discharge for which a water right is granted may, at the discretion of the Board, be included in the General Authorisation after a period of 12 months. 4 — This Authorisation shall apply both to existing septic tank effluent systems and to new disposal systems installed in accordance with this authorisation and to the requirements of the territorial local authority. 5 — This Authorisation shall continue in force until November 30,1995, and may be revoked in whole or in part by the Regional Water Board at any time by notice in a newspaper circulating in the water region whenever the public interest so requires.
