ECONOMIC RESEARCH CHRISTCHURCH POSITIONS ARE NOW AVAILABLE in the Christchurch office of the Department of Statistics for graduates interested in undertaking macroeconomic research and development work. The positions offered involve: — the analysis of economic data as a part of the ongoing maintenance and further development of New Zealand’s Gross Domestic Product and Expenditure Accounts; — the application of the above to current economic problems and policy needs. Graduates and near graduates majoring in economics are preferred although graduates in other subjects who have successfully completed some economics papers will be considered. The successful candidates need have.no previous work experience, but should have the necessary motivation and initiative to undertake research work, both individually and in a team environment.
