No foul play in death: police

The Christchurch police say no foul play was involved in the death of a man whose body was found in a St Albans Street on Tuesday evening. The dead man was

Ross Bottrell Raymond, aged 28, a computer technician, of Sawyers Arms Road.

A post-mortem examination has been made and tests are being done to determine whether the man’s death was related to the inhalation of a compressed gas. The body of Mr Raymond was found in Courtenay Street about 10.15 p.m., lying in the gutter beside the open front passenger door of his car.

He was last seen alive by friends at a house in Courtenay Street. He went outside about 9.30 p.m. to get some property from his car and did not return.

An inquest will be held.
