Tests may show cause of death
PA Auckland Detectives are awaiting the results of scientific tests to establish the cause of death of a youth found beside a road at Takanini, South Auckland. The youth was Kim Graeme Birch, aged 19, a labourer, of Manurewa. His body, clothed in only
trousers and socks, was found by a woman on Friday afternoon.
A post-mortem examination failed to determine how Mr Birch died. The police have called in D.S.I.R. scientists to conduct tests.
A police spokesman said that the inquiry was still being conducted as one into a suspicious death, rather than a homicide.
