Charisma Gold earns favouritism
By STEVE WILSON Charisma Gold looks assured of strong support for the final of the $5OO Canterbury Greyhound Owner’s, Trainer’s and Breeder’s Association Stakes, at the Christchuich Greyhound Racing Club’s on-course only meeting on December 27, after an impressive win in his qualifying heat at Queen Elizabeth II Park. The son of Roaming Ron — Mystic Madam recorded 34.53 s for the 560 m, which was the fastest of all the heats. He won untested by five lengths from the daughter of the outstanding Arkarita, Metal Moran. The littermates, Our Asset and Tanya Two (Magpie Asset — Wee Dunnit), were also smart qualifiers and they should both be strong contenders for the maiden feature.
The highlight of the day was provided by the C 3 bitch, Wee Asset After losing several lengths at the start the Magpie Asset bitch railed well and was soon in command to take the honours by three lengths from High Club.
