Matches washed out
After rain stopped play all third round matches in the suburban cricket D.B. one-day competition last Sunday had to be abandoned. Each team was awarded one point, although Vistalite Sumner and Woolston W.M.C. with no chance of a making the final, had already decided not to continue. Bowleys Hornby has won section B and goes through to the final on February 6. Points:—
Section A: Heathcote, Hoon Hay 5, Vistalite Sumner, Woolston W.M.C. 0. Section B: Bowleys Hornby 5, Merivale-Papanui, New Brighton 3, Southern Districts 1. Bowleys Hornby will meet either Heathcote or Hoon Hay in the final. To determine the section A winner a play-off has been scheduled for Sunday, December 22, at Hoon Hay Park, with the winner also hnsfinp the final.
