Auck.-Hobart air service to begin
PA Auckland A weekly air service between Auckland and Hobart will begin on December 17. The Australian international carrier, Qantas, will use a Boeing 767 on the route, the first wide-bodied international service into Hobart. Mr Geoffrey Wood, senior sales and promotion officer
in Auckland for the Tasmanian Department of Tourism, said yesteday that Tasmanians were excited about the link. It would open Tasmania not only to North Islanders but to visitors from North America, Asia and the United Kingdom. “We will come of age with this service,” he said.
