Maiden flight for jet
PA Wellington Air New Zealand’s first Boeing 767 airliner made its maiden flight yesterday. In a flight of 2Vz hours from Boeing’s Everett base, just north of Seattle, the 220-passenger twin-jet reached an altitude of 43,000 feet The crew of Boeing 767 specialists were completely
happy with its performance, Air New Zealand said. The next flight is planned for August 20 and the aircraft is due to be delivered to New Zealand on September 10. It is the first of three Boeing 767 ER, extended range, aircraft bought by the airline. Two more will follow next year.
