Record entry in cycle race
The open novice Hornby cycling mini-tour was raced in fine conditions yesterday at Prebbleton. The race had a record entry of 90 riders from throughout the South Island and the races in each section were closely contested. Abbreviations used in the results are: Woolston Workingmen’s Club (W.), Mairehau (M.), Hornby Workingmen’s Club (H.), Timaru (T.). A grade.— Section I: J. Smith (W.), 1:44:40, 1; G.
